Introducing the Ultra League Rise Cup - The Inaugural Ultraman Card Game Tournament in Asia Oceania!

Fans of the Ultraman Card Game, get ready to rise to the occasion! The Ultra League Rise Cup is the very first large-scale tournament for the Asia Oceania region in which Ultra Leaguers can participate for a chance to receive coveted prizes!

This exciting tournament series will feature 1-day events held in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Australia over a two-month period, from February to March 2025.

・U12 Definition and Additional Information:

  • Persons who are born from and inclusive of 1st January 2013 (For 2025 Ultra League Rise Cup)
  • ID checks will be conducted at check-in
  • U12 participant must have their own Ultra League account
Format
  • Individual Best of 3 (Bo3)
  • Swiss Rounds, followed by a Top 8 Cut
  • *Round Robin in the event of lower amount of players

At the end of each game, the loser may decide the first lead player in the next game.

Eligibility

All Ultra Leaguers are eligible to participate except for the following:

  • Organiser of the Tournament
  • Staffs of the Tournament
  • Head Judge of the Tournament
  • Judges of the Tournament
  • All affiliated Tsuburaya Staff

For the U12 tournament, only Ultra Leaguers aged 12 or under may participate.

Language

Only the main language assigned to each specific region may be used. No mixing of languages is allowed.

  • English: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Australia
  • Japanese: Hong Kong
  • Traditional Chinese: Taiwan
Cards
  • Please refer to the latest source listed on the Ultraman official website's card database here.
  • Proxies are not allowed for official tournament play.
  • Cards with staining, markings, or anything that allows cards to be distinguishable from each other after sleeving are also not permitted.
  • All cards released 2 weeks prior to the date of the tournament will be legal for use.
Deck
  • A player must use the same deck throughout the tournament. No switching of cards is permitted in between games within a tournament.
  • It is also mandatory to type out and print your deck to be submitted at the start of Round 1.
  • Random deck checks may be conducted every round, discrepancies between the deck and submitted deck list will result in a penalty.

Sleeving
  • Players are required to use officially licensed opaque sleeves so that the back of the cards cannot be easily distinguished.
  • Oversleeves with a matte finishing on one side and gloss finishing on the other is permitted. However, the matte finishing has to be uniform throughout the deck, on either the front or back of the cards.
  • Oversleeves with patterns or borders are not permitted.
  • Sleeves used for all cards in the deck must be of the same design.
  • Triple Sleeving is prohibited.
  • All cards must be sleeved.

If a sleeve is deemed unusable, the player must replace it with another sleeve of the exact design or replace the sleeves of the entire deck.

Time-Out Policy

BO3 (best of 3 game matches) overview:

Round Time: 40 minutes

Matches will not tie during swiss rounds. All matches must end with one winner (*)

End of game procedure:

If the scheduled time is up while a game is in progress, the current turn is completed, and (if required) one additional turn is played.

Then, if the game remains unfinished, the game winner is determined using the following process:

  1. Count the number of battle wins in the battle area for each player. The player with more battle wins is the game winner.
  2. If both players have an equal number of battle wins, the player who won the most recent battle is the game winner.
  3. If the most recent battle was a tie, the Lead player is the game winner.

BO3 End of match procedure:

If time is called while a game is in progress, the end of game procedure (above) is applied.

Then, the match winner is determined using the following process:

  1. The player with more game wins, wins the match.
  2. If the number of game wins are tied (ie: 1-1), the player who won the first game wins the match.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which language of cards are allowed for the ULRC tournament?

A: Only cards officially sold in their respective regions may be used. Mixing of cards with multiple languages in the deck is not allowed as well. Here is the list for clarity:

  • English: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Australia
  • Japanese: Hong Kong
  • Traditional Chinese: Taiwan

Q: Am I allowed to switch decks and/or change cards in the midst of a tournament?

A: Participants are NOT allowed to switch decks or change cards during the tournament.

Q: Should I sleeve the cards? May I use different sleeves?

A: Yes, you are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished. Maximum 2 layers of sleeves are allowed. Only officially licensed sleeves are allowed.

Q: Am I allowed to use my own card supplies (sleeves, deck cases, playmats) in ULRC?

A: Yes, you are allowed to use your own card supplies as long as they are licensed products. It is prohibited to use any unlicensed card supplies.

Q: Can I purchase cards from other players at ULRC tournaments?

A: No. Players may trade cards, but are not allowed to buy/sell cards from other players at our events.

Q: Can I play other card games at the ULRC?

A: No. Players are only allowed to play UCG at the ULRC.

Q: Are there any entry fees to participate in this event?

A: There is no participation fee for ULRC 2025.

Q: Can PR cards only be used 1 week after they are officially released, in the ULRC?

A: PR Cards can only be used 2 weeks after its initial release.
