• 1What is a tournament?

A tournament is a fun event where you can play against other Ultra Leaguers. Tournaments are held at authorized stores all over the world.
There are 3 types of tournaments: the “Ultra League Meetup”, the “Ultra League Challenge Match”, and the “Ultra League Galaxy Cup”. For newcomers to the Trading Card Game scene, let's start by participating in Meetups!

Once you get used to participating in tournaments, you can try participating in a Challenge Match or Galaxy Cup!

  • 2Confirm the event details!

Be sure to check and confirm these three things before confirming your participation!
Once you have, you can apply to participate from the “ULTRA LEAGUE” app!

Date and Time: Leave home well in advance so as not to be late.
Store Location: Confirm the store address, and how to get there.
Participation Criteria: There may be a fee required for participation.

  • 1Sleeve up your deck!

Your deck is your irreplaceable companion throughout a tournament, so it is essential to protect it by putting your cards in protective card sleeves to avoid damaging them!
In addition to protecting the card from dirt and damage, it also helps to ensure the back of the cards are indistinguishable.
For this reason, we recommend “double-sleeveing” your deck!
After placing the card in a clear inner sleeve, put that into a coloured/opaque sleeve.
There is also an official UCG sleeve , which is perfect for this purpose while still showing your love for Ultraman!

  • 2Check the number of cards in your deck

You need to have exactly 50 cards in your deck - no more, no less! If you don’t have 50 cards in your deck, you may not be able to participate in the event…
To make things easier, you could create a deck list on the Ultra League app, and use it as a checklist!

  • 1Start with a greeting!

Break the ice with a warm hello!
Before a game starts, greet them with a hearty "Ultra League! Buddy Go!"

  • 2Shuffle up your deck properly!

Randomize the order of the cards and shuffle them to make the game fair.
Shuffle using at least two different shuffling methods and mix them well, in full view of your opponents.
    Recommendations:
    ・Pile Shuffle
This is a method of shuffling where you divide your deck into multiple piles, then mix them.
You can divide them into 5 piles of 10 cards each, which will make it easier for you to track.
Finally, when stacking the piles, they should be stacked randomly!
    ・Hindu shuffle
It's a way of shuffling that pulls a few cards from the middle or the bottom of a deck bundle and stacking them on top of the deck.
Repeat this process several times to improve randomization!

If you perform a Pile shuffle followed by a Hindu shuffle, you’ll be able to achieve a good randomisation!
In addition, it is strongly recommended that you “cut” your opponent’s deck after you're done shuffling your own.
Split the deck into two piles, and place the bottom half on top. Remember to allow your opponent to do this as well!
Please handle the cards with care during this process.

  • 3Approach the store owner or tournament organizer if you have any questions!

It’s important to raise any questions you may have to the store owner or tournament organizer as soon as possible.
If you continue to play without saying a thing, you may face more issues later on in the tournament.

  • 1Maintain a friendly attitude during play

Embody the Ultra Leaguer spirit of mutual respect, regardless of the match’s result!
Do not antagonize or take out your frustrations on your opponent.

  • 2Handle all cards with care

Whether you’re cutting your opponent’s deck or looking at their cards to read the effects, please treat their cards with care.

  • 3Communicate your card effects clearly

“I'll use this card’s effect to do this!”
Be sure to indicate clearly to your opponent whenever you use an effect, and make sure they are aware of it.
This is essential to ensure that gameplay can proceed smoothly and both players are aware of what is happening at all times.

  • 4Check with the store staff when in doubt

If you have any doubts about the rules, even if it happens during a game, be sure to ask a judge or the store staff right away.
In situations where you and your opponent cannot come to an agreement, you should notify an event official so that they can assist in solving the problem.

  • 5Express your gratitude to your opponent

When the match is over, don’t forget to say "Thank you for the game!"
At the end of the match, offer a friendly cross-touch to your opponent for a game well played!
