What Is Starter Deck?

Hello, everyone!

It's been a while! I am Norihiko Mukai, the Development Producer of the Ultraman Card Game (UCG). Today, I'd like to share a bit more about the Starter Deck products that are going on sale at the end of October. Are you familiar with what a Starter Deck is?? Those who have played other trading card games before will be familiar with this, but even if you already know what a Starter Deck is please read this column til the end! I have new information to share with everyone!!
There are two types of UCG products - the Booster Pack, or BP, and the Starter Deck, or SD. What exactly is the SD? Before I explain further...

It is very important that you get one!!!

Now that I have your attention, please let me explain why you need a Starter Deck.

It is a COMPLETE deck ready for play out of the box!!!

The main product of any TCG is the Booster Pack. 1 pack contains 12 cards. If you were just collecting cards of your favorite Ultra Heroes or Kaiju, you would probably find a single copy of your favorite, but if you want to play UCG, you will need 50 cards to build a deck. The SD contains a 50-card constructed deck that is ready for play right out of the box! This makes it the perfect product for someone who is interested in the game, but has no idea where to begin!

Connecting Artwork!!!

Have you seen the high-rarity cards that are available in every SD?

If you put these cards next to each other in order, they form a complete picture! Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia look incredible together amidst the burning landscape! Zero, Geed, and Z cut heroic figures in front of Nebula M78 Land of Light. The coolest part of this is that you're guaranteed to get these cards with amazing connecting artwork from the SD! These will surely be a core piece of every collector's hoard, but since you've already bought a SD... why not give the game a shot, too?

Powerful Cards!!!

Card game players, thank you for reading til the end! As promised, I have some new cards to show you! The final but essential reason on why you should pick up an SD is because the cards are powerful. When you think of Starter Decks, you might think, "oh, the same cards are probably in the BP" or "the cards in the SD are probably not very strong", right? Well, I am happy to share that the UCG SDs consist of mechanically unique, original cards that are not available in the BP! And - dare I say it - the cards in the SD are just as powerful as the ones in the BP!
"Are you sure about that?" I can hear you asking. To prove my point, take a look at some of the cards in the SD! First up, we have "Ultraman Gaia V2" from SD01 "Heroes of Hyper Space."

As it enters play, you reveal 3 cards of your deck and you can put one into your hand. Gaining resource advantage is important in any TCG, so having a card in the SD that can draw more cards is definitely a bonus.

Next, we have "Ultraman Geed Galaxy Rising" from SD02 "The Bonds of Zero!"

As it enters play, you can increase the BP of your Geed! Without having to use a card to level up, you may be able to surprise your opponent and snatch victory from right under their nose!

"But that's just the high-rarity cards, right?" I hear you ask. . Of course not! The Kaiju that appeared in "The Battle In Hyper Space" Satan Bizor has already been announced on X. But, speaking of Hyper Space...

Thank you for reading! I hope to be able to continue sharing critical updates like this with everyone.
See you all in the next column!
